A New Offering from The Ohio State University

IMPACT Literacy K-6 offers professional development for literacy coaches and teachers to raise achievement in reading and writing. The focus is to implement research-based practices and develop collaborative learning communities.

IMPACT Literacy K-6 gives participants the ability to customize their professional development experience. Awareness sessions detailing the offerings under IMPACT Literacy K-6 are held periodically (See brochure below).

Graduate credit is available for some of offerings under IMPACT Literacy K-6.

Comprehensive Literacy Framework

One week of intensive study to prepare educators to improve K-6 reading achievement.

Developing Comprehension Strategies K-6

Two weeks of in-depth, example-based training to prepare educators to improve reading and comprehending strategies across instructional contexts.

Literacy Leadership K-6

Three weeks of continued study for those who have completed Comprehensive Literacy Framework and Developing Comprehension Strategies K-6 to prepare literacy leaders for elementary schools. Topics include coaching, working with adult learners, leading professional development, content area reading, writing instruction, and phonics and word study.
